Notice that windows is not in the skill set above? We don't use windows, so although windows has it's place in many environments, we dont care about your mcse if you have one. We’re looking for a developer that loves coding so much they do it their spare time for fun. You’ll have tendency to talk our ear off about some technical detail of what they’re working on. We’re Looking for someone that started tinkering with code at a very young age “Just for fun” and has experience moving from one programming language to another, and can adapt to anything new in a short period, knowing one programming language or operating system does not make you a great IT person or programmer. Picking up the latest version of operating system / programming language and figuring it out fast - that’s the candidate for us.

Projects you’ll be working on:

Create Custom Web Applications
• Build a custom content management (CMS) system in PHP and MYSQL
• Work with On-line Designer and Editor to create client/in-house microsites
• Implement all on-line content delivery
• Develop an effective ad unit inventory control program
• Script on-line forms in PHP
• Create and maintain an effective Search Engine Optimization (SEO) system for all sites associated with House & Home media, and manage other staff after implementation.
• Assist with creation of innovative and interactive client marketing programs
• Liaise with programming suppliers on various client and in-house programs
• Manage multiple project schedules
• Select and implement solutions for online content delivery

Manage and Maintain Web Servers
• Maintain all hardware/software servers for House & Home and Client Websites
• Manage subscription services database and liaise with subscriber fulfillment house.
• Manage banner delivery in accordance with client contracts
• On call on a rotating schedule for 24/7 paging
• Assist with management of all databases

Reporting and Statistical Information
• Provide statistics and user tracking information using existing tools for e-newsletters, ad unit delivery and overall site traffic
