Web/Graphic Designer

House & Home Media is seeking someone to help us build a new web 2.0 website, a brand new CMS system, day to day updates on our website, and someone to help us manage the many clients that we provide microsites for. This position will be a contract with the option to go full time.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
• Minimum of 2 years experience in web & grapic design/development. Candidates will be expected to provide a portfolio of work and sample URLs.
• A degree or diploma in web/multi-media/graphic design or design-related field.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Comfortable working in MAC environment;
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Critical attention to pixel detail using Adobe Photoshop/ImageReady and Fireworks
• Attention to all aspects of web authoring and deployment detail (UI, User Experience, Usability, Optimization, Plug In Architecture etc..)
• Extensive knowledge of HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (ability to hand-code a must) ;
• Adobe Flash and Actionscript
• HTML/JAVASCRIPT and the ability to read and interpret PHP, MYSQL
• Illustration Skills using vector programs such as Adobe Illustrator
• Knowledge of digital photography, color correction.
• Ability to troubleshoot
• Ability to work with multiple client deadlines
• Demonstrate the technical aptitude to work collaboratively with our IT department
• Provide a full online portfolio demonstrating the usage of the above applications
• Ability to meet tight deadlines is essential to keep up in our fast-paced environment.;
• Copywriting experience and asset
• Experience using any web based content management system
